As physical therapists we have an obligation as experts and educators in movement to provide therapeutic care to all patients regardless of background, disability, or socioeconomic status. It is our goal to continue to enhance the field by sharing our knowledge and skills to benefit the community through collaboration and effective communication. Continuing to promote therapy and emphasize movement as medicine will aid in the overall function of our patients and emphasize that they have the ability to live a quality life with proper activity and a positive mindset. As a physical therapist, I strive to utilize evidence-based practice as a therapist in order to demonstrate adequate care in the realm of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Following is the summation of my experiences, clinical affiliations, and community work experience.

These goals and professional missions will summarize my short-term expectations in the field of physical therapy. It outlines how each goal can be best achieved and how each will help to influence my individualization in the realm of outpatient and orthopedic therapy.

The APTA has a list of core values and beliefs that all therapists should uphold to be the most compassionate, caring, and socially responsible individual. In a short paper, I highlighted what I believe to be the most important core values related to my beliefs.

Throughout the time in the DPT program at the University of Jamestown, prior to each clinical affiliation we were to record professional goals to reach prior to completion of the rotation. This document summarizes my goals and progression throughout the affiliations alongside strategies to meet these goals in a timely manner.

Looking inward on oneself can oftentimes show how we reached our milestones and demonstrate how far we've come. Beginning my experience in the physical therapy program, I struggled with a traumatic brain injury that helped to shape my path for the remainder of my schooling. This paper helps to define how I overcame this challenge and developed as an individual and professional.

During my third clinical experience (PT 883), I had the opportunity to observe, document, and report on a patient in the clinic following all HIPAA and privacy policies of the clinic. The report focused on a patient with neck pain and the treatments, progression, and outcomes using a holistic and evidence based approach.

Reaching out to society is oftentimes an essential and important role of any healthcare professional. During the spring of 2018, we actively marketed and presented a proposal to assist with a Parkinson's program in the Fargo-Moorhead area by the name of Rock Steady Boxing.

Administration is an important aspect of therapy, particularly in the private and outpatient sector. During our coursework, we created a business plan including finances, projections, and materials necessary to begin a business.

Developing Oneself

Looking forward is oftentimes useful to progress and assist in accomplishing relevant goals. This document summarizes my future career, goals, and objectives throughout the lifetime related to the field of physical therapy.

Understanding Disabilities

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has standards and expectations at buildings, sites, and locations to accommodate individuals and limit discriminatory practice. In the UJPT Program, we had the opportunity to evaluate the YMCA pool and gather data on the standards used for individuals with disabilities.

Conceptualizing Pain

Pain is often a complex and unique phenomenon that directly correlates with what we do as PTs. Therapeutic Neuroscience Education (TNE) is a concept that helps to educate patients on how the body interprets chronic pain and how cognition can often decrease pain perception.

Orthopedics and Obesity

In the 21st century, the prevalence of obesity and biomechanical disorders in the musculoskeletal system is as large as ever. In pediatrics, excess body weight has been shown to have detrimental effects on lower extremity function particularly in the knees, hips, and low back.
