Mentor Experience
Outside of the school setting, I was actively involved with the Big Brother Big Sister Association in the Fargo-Moorhead area as a mentor with a child in a low-income family. The match was overseen by a case manager with weekly outings lasting anywhere from 4-8 hours.
Over the course of two years, I was a mentor accumulating close to 200 hours of volunteer work with a young adolescent male that was in need of adult mentorship. I also was a mentor throughout my entire college experience in Duluth, MN.
Activities included:
-Biking/ rollerblading
-School work and studying
-Community events (hockey games, circus)
- Day trips to the lake and nearby cities
- Miscellaneous activities such as board games, puzzles, and drawing
